Your Borough. Your Vote. Your Voice.

Why should I vote in local elections?

Voting in local elections is one of the most direct ways to influence the issues that affect our daily lives. From decisions about schools and public safety to infrastructure and local taxes, local officials shape the policies that impact our community. Yet, local elections often see low voter turnout, meaning each vote carries significant weight. In the past, Prospect Park Republican candidates have run unopposed, meaning they won their elections with just the 10 signatures required to get on the ballot. By participating in these elections, you ensure your voice is heard and contribute to the democratic process that governs our community.

You may search for your voter registration status with your Name or your PennDOT Driver’s License or PennDOT ID. Your party affiliation and polling place address will be displayed once you have provided an exact match with the information on your voter registration record.

What if I moved, changed names, or changed party affiliation?

How do I request a mail-in/absentee ballot?

In Pennsylvania, registered voters can request either a no-excuse mail-in ballot or an absentee ballot.

  • Mail-in ballot: Any registered voter may apply to vote by mail in the next election. You do not have to provide a reason for why you want to vote by mail ballot.

  • Absentee ballot: If you will  be out of your municipality on Election Day or if you have a disability or illness that prevents you from going to your polling place on Election Day, you can request this ballot type, which requires you to provide a reason for why you want to vote by mail ballot.

Registered voters can apply for a mail-in or absentee ballot online with a valid PA driver's license, PennDOT-issued photo ID, or the last 4 digits of their Social Security number.

Be sure to provide an email address with your application so you will receive ballot status notifications.

Reminder: Voters may return only their own ballot return envelope. The only exception is to assist a disabled voter or an emergency absentee voter -- and requires a declaration signed by the voter and by the person who provides assistance.

Drop boxes provide mail/absentee voters with the most direct method for returning their ballots – from the voter directly to the election authority, without using a middleperson such as the Postal Service or a courier. Drop boxes also are vital for those voters who return their ballots on Election Day or just before Election Day – to prevent loss or delay of the envelope in the mail.

All drop boxes are kept under 24/7 surveillance during use. Counterfeiting, forging, tampering with, or destroying ballots or drop boxes is a second-degree misdemeanor pursuant to sections 1816 and 1817 of the Pennsylvania Election Code (25 P.S. §§ 3516 and 3517).v
In the event that a ballot drop box is not functional or damaged, voters should contact the Bureau of Elections at (610) 891-4673 or DelcoElection@co.delaware.pa.us.
